"Computer, start Personal Log Stardate 239607.20," she said.

The computer beeped, ready.

"I knew this day was coming, but I never thought that it would come this soon, I know the only reason I got off lightly for my actions after being rescued was down to my trauma, but I did not come away unscathed, yes I suffered horribly, but my actions got a man killed at my hands and leniency or not there has to be a balancing of the books"

*pause*

"I may have been acquitted, but my conscience is what is keeping me in check these days, and this is why I asked for and was granted command of Starbase 51 at the rank of Commodore. My feelings on leaving the Tomcat are sentimental. I have commanded her for eighteen and a half years, and I have not had a proper LOA during that time, and I have gone through a lot. Now the time has come for me to give it up and hand it over to another; I find that I have become sentimental" She pauses again.

"After returning to Starbase 51, there will be a short downtime for the crew. Our current mission was supposed to be more than a weapons and systems test, but somehow Lieutenant Benson ended up in trouble after testing one of our new drop pods. But I have hope that the new Commander will do well. Captain Alexandria Somers, like me, a former Marine to fleet, will have her own teething problems in light of her previous commanding of this ship" *pauses*

"Also, with a new Commander there will be a new First Officer. I will be switching Commanders Dodd and Hawksley around as I feel their personalities will mesh better, but I will also be making Commander Dodd Second Officer, a position he deserves"

"Computer, end personal log," She said.

The computer beeped in acknowledgement as Jasmine sat back in her chair.
