After Alex had left the Commandant's Office, she headed to the communications centre and booked a booth to sit in. She enabled the privacy field.

Computer: State recipient appeared on the screen

"Secure line to USS Tomcat, Mira Sector, to the personal communication of Fleet Captain Jasmine Somers, officer commanding, alpha-nine-six-two-Sigma-nine-one security clearance, and apply high-level encryption", she said.

Computer: Code accepted: Destination and Recipient acknowledged: the highest encryption algorithms applied, the computer displayed.

The text was replaced by a spinning Starfleet logo.

- Captain's Quarters - USS Tomcat -

Jasmine was still shaking long after Ross had left. She once again had a top on, she was startled when her communications terminal came to life, curious, she stood on shaky legs and walked over and sat at her desk.

She accepted the link and applied encryption; what showed up was her cousin; she gave Alex a small smile as the other woman scrutinised her.

=/\= Hey Alex, you look happy! =/\= Jamsine responded.

=/\= Why thank you, I have to say you look like shit, you still having nightmares huh?=/\= Alex asked.

=/\= Oh thanks a bunch, love you too =/\=Jasmine said with a tired smile, =/\= But yes, I recently had another nightmare it was so bad that I ended up with cuts, fractured ribs and other such things, I know the mind can percieve injuries and bring them out on the body, but this seems to be more than that! =/\= she finished.

Then Alex mentioned something that would have results

=/\= Perhaps your tormentor implanted some type of device to make such things worse, but that would be some pretty advanced bio-engineering =/\= Alex responded.

=/\= As to why I am calling, the Academy Commandant said that you had requested a transfer to command SB51 and you got a promotion to Commodore, congrats on the upcoming promotion, but the Commandant seemed to think that your request was too readily given =/\= Alex responded.

=/\= Yes, it seemed like that to me too, the only reason I escaped a sterner fate was due to my full trauma, but when I recovered enough, I knew there would be repercussions, but I think my choice was valid as these damn nightmares are starting to get to me and I want a less stress free time remaining on my career =/\= Jasmine answered.

Alex nodded

=/\= Also, some good news, I have passed and will graduate this September. The Commandant told me that after graduation, I would be made a full Captain and given command of the Tomcat. This is why I am contacting you now. You do know that I still have guilt over what happened to you; it should have been me; I was the Commanding Officer for that mission, but you got my punishment! =/\= Alex exclaimed.

=/\= No point dwelling on it, Alex. What is done is done, so how are Paul and the kids? =/\= Jasmine asked, changing the subject.

=/\= They are fine; both are with my parents. Paul is looking to get back into Security and from engineering. Otherwise, all is great. Oh my baby sister Kathryn has been posted to SFHQ as an Aide to an Admiral as an Ensign =/\= Alex answered.

*Jasmine nods*

=/\= The mission we are currently on will be my last, so I will make sure everything is ready for you, but you seem to have softened your personage =/\= Jasmine said and observed.

*sigh* =/\= Yes, had to adapt being here at the Academy, but it does not bother me so much anymore, I have gotten used to the softer look and the other Cadets seem to accept me more easily =/\= Alex answered.

=/\= That will help when you take command =/\= Jasmine said.

=/\= Oh, one more thing, my contacts tell me there is a new Terran cell operating somewhere out in the Mira Sector. They were unable to send any more data; I figure they were at risk of being compromised. =/\= Alex said.

Jasmine nodded =/\= thanks, cous, so I will see you around September time, yes? =/\= Jamsine asked.

*nods* =/\= Yes, look after yourself, Jas, I will see you then =/\= Alex said.

=/\= Ciao =/\= Jasmine said, then the link closed. Then she realised that she had forgotten to mention that she had been seeing Alex's dead friend, she sighed and returned to her bed to try and get some sleep.
