Mission:
S04 Episode 02 The Hackers Backdoor (Incidentals)
Location: Kildare's Quarters
[ON]
Dodd had been in the holodeck with Hawksley and when they were finished, he felt he needed to stop by and see someone who was not feeling the best.
So he headed to the quarters of the Kildare's.
He arrived at the door to activate the sensor so if anyone was inside, which he knew there was, would be notified. And now he waited for permission to enter.
Lamia had already sensed Remington’s arrival at her door, getting up to greet him at the door she was a little slow but after her surgery she needed to get some gentle exercise, and sitting on the sofa wasn’t doing that. She smiled as she opened the door. “Hi Remington, come on in.”
"Hey there, I sensed you needed a friendly face and figured mine might help until a better one came along." Remy stated as she stepped in to visit his dear friend.
He stepped in and the door closed behind him. He looked around and did not see the little one but sensed he was near by. "So how are things?"
“They’re okay, it’s definitely a learning curve having a baby around though.” She motioned Remington to take a seat. “It’s not been the easiest start with having had surgery, I’m still somewhat sore.”
"I cannot even imagine but I can sense the soreness. Just know you are never alone, I am here to help not just for you both of you and the baby." Remy stated as he sat down next to Lamia. "You just have to give me word or thought and I am will do what I can."
Lamia smiled warmly. “Thank you Remington, I appreciate that. Actually there was something I was thinking of asking you, I haven’t had chance to mention it to Chris yet but I don’t think he’d mind.” She paused. “How would you feel about being godfather to Wyatt?”
A sense of surprise temporarily came to Remy's mind. He knew there was something coming but she as able to mask it. "I would be extremely honored to be Wyatt's Godfather as long as Chris is on board. I do feel a small connection to him because of you. Even though he is not my child, I would sacrifice myself for his safety." Remy replied and a single tear rolled down his cheek.
Lamia smiled warmly. “Neither of us had a chance to get to know our daughter before we lost her, at least now you’ll get a chance Uncle Remy!” She grinned at that reference.
"I will cherish every moment of watching this wee lad grow." Remy's face bore a huge smile of joy. "I always wanted to have a family of my own but sharing in this part of Wyatt's life will be a deep and joyous addition to my existence. Just like knowing you and having you as part of it is."
Lamia smiled. “I just wish I could keep him onboard permanently instead of only having six months. It’s going to be hard leaving Wyatt at Starbase 51 while we’re away.”
"I do understand, that it will be hard on you and Chris." Dodd replied. "I wish we had a ship with the means of keeping children on board like a Galaxy Class ship. Just know that I will be happy to help in any shape with Wyatt be it on the ship or on Starbase 51. I will be the best 'uncle' he could ever want."
“Of that I’ve no doubt!” Lamia grinned. “I can just imagine you playing together, with Wyatt calling you Uncle Remy! I’ll make sure you get a chance to babysit, I’ve no doubt I’m going to need it.”
"You will be a wonderful mother and I have no doubt you will make a good fit between your duties as a mother and a member of this ship's crew." Dodd replied. "I want you to know that I am looking forward to full incorporation of myself into my duties as the XO and as your friend and the godfather to little Wyatt. I want to be the best me I can be in Wyatt's eyes. Not my child, but I will not let that keep me from loving him any different. He will fill the void I have had inside for a long time now."
Lamia nodded and smiled. “I’m glad, I don’t like to see you unhappy. I think Wyatt will love having uncle Remington to play and spend time with!” She grinned.
"I am glad we still can be supportive of one another. After all we have been through together, I feel this closeness keeps us stronger and helps us overall." Remy responded. "But, on that note, I feel I need to get on and let you get some rest while Wyatt is still napping."
“It’s been nice having you pop by though” Lamia smiled warmly. “I’ll let you know when I need a break and uncle Remy can baby sit!”
"Looking forward to it." Remy leaned over to give is friend a hug. "I will always consider you family." Then he stood up. "Just you stay right there and get some rest while you can. Wyatt is off in dreamland and you need to continue chillin' while you can." Dodd then stepped towards the door.
Lamia smiled as she stretched out on the sofa glad that she had such a good friend in Remington.
"Good to see you and hope to see you sooner than later." Dodd stated back to Lamia with a turn of his head to look at her once more. Then he exited her quarters and headed to his to get ready for his next shift.
