Mission: S04 Episode 01 Captive State Part 2 (Incidentals)
Location: Holodeck/Various
Timeline: Before Mission

[ON]

Mazal had left things to where the men who were going on the away mission could get into some bonding time, she now wished to do a little bit of bonding time with the ladies who were going. She wasn't quite certain just what they could do, but perhaps, a beach scene then go from there? She sent out a general call to the ladies involved.

=/\= Ladies, bring your swimwear, it's beach time on the holodeck. Mazal out=/\=

She got herself ready and set up a beach scene. If it needed to be adjusted, it was no problem. Her attire was a red two-piece swimsuit with a white cover-up. It was a white sandy beach, with palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, umbrellas were set up to provide shade.

Cassandra had just completed a mile-foot race with Corporal Haden Stroad. His long legs had carried him swiftly to victory. Not by much though. They both cracked open a bottle of water when Cassandra got the call.

Excusing herself politely, with the promise of a re-try. She headed to the locker room to get what she might need for time on a beach that wasn't combat-related. The first thing is a shower. She'd figure out the rest after that.

Thex had just gotten off her shift when she got the message. Smiling she stepped out of the sonic shower and headed for her wardrobe. Thinking about what to wear she decided to spice things up and chose the replicator to replicate a random swimsuit for herself. Finding herself wearing a Barbie pink two-piece bikini she collected a towel and headed for the holdeck. Stepping through the doors to the holodeck she smiled at Mazal. " Hello there captain do you need me to handle anything?" she enquired.

"Well we are here to relax and have a bit of fun, I got this idea from Cassandra Matthews. We felt that we needed a little bit of bonding time before we go on that mission."

" Well, thanks for organising it. Always good to feel sand under my feet and salt on my skin." The blue girl responded.

"You are welcome and glad that you came here," Mazal replied.

- Jasmine Allen's Quarters -

Allen was in her quarters reading a book when the call came, feeling excited she rushed into the bedroom, she had been wanting to show off her new swimwear attire, the Colonel recommended a style and Allen being who she was found the sexiest bikini she could find what is more this was a Vintage style so it showed a lot more skin, it took a lot longer to put on that she had hoped, too many strings and not enough material when she finally finished she looked at her reflection and wolf-whistled herself.

"Damn it, girl! You may as well go full Betazoid, this outfit leaves nothing to the imagination," she said, the outfit came with two types of shoes a pair of short heels and flats, she chose the sandals, not the heels. Putting the flats on she picked up a sheer-like wrap-a-round skirt that complimented the bikini and considering she had to walk to the holodeck she opted for a sleeveless shirt, that she put on, but tied up into a bow in the front, she then put her hair into a ponytail and pinned her Commbadge on her shirt, picked up her beach bag with a towel and lotion and left her quarters.

- Kildare Quarters -

Lamia was sitting feet up engrossed in a pregnancy book when the call came from Mazal, deciding she couldn’t really skip a get together she got up to go and change into her bikini. Deciding it best to wear something over the top she pulled out a kimono and put it ready to put on over the top.

-Michelle's workstation Security Alcove-

Alexi was already trying to get information on how best to remove the 'unearned knowledge' from Arth. There would be a lot of problems if anything was left behind. To this end, she was looking into any and all areas where they might have incorporated this and find ways to eliminate both the access to and knowledge of anything even remotely associated. She received a call to report to the holodeck and frowned slightly. In her mind she did not have time for frivolities. But, as this sounded like an order from a superior officer, it was evident she needed to attend. Alexi headed to her quarters trying to think if she even had any swimwear. She dug through her wardrobe and finally came up with the closest thing she had, her workout shorts and tank top. She changed and headed to the holodeck, still going over the information in her head that she had been looking over.

-Hangars-

The message came across Mag's PADD. OOOH, a PARTY!! She was interested. She read the message again. A beach party, no less! YESSS. She quickly tossed the towel at the ATC and hollered out. "YO! Rodriguez. I am off for the night!" It was true, her shift was just ending. She hurried to her quarters, slipped into her bikini, and put on a white, long linen sundress over that. She put on some sandals, and put on a small amount of makeup. She was ready. She hurried quickly to the Holodecks, putting on a big floppy hat as she did so. People stared. She stared right back.

- Holodeck -

Eventually, Jasmine arrived at the holodeck and entered, what greeted her was a golden sand beach and the simulated head was perfect, she walked in far enough so the doors closed, she looked up and saw Falk and an Andorian she was not familiar with, smiling she walked up to the women.

"Hey Captain, how are things and where did you get this sunny beach from?" She asked and looked at the Andorian she held out her hand "Hello, my name is Jasmine Allen, I do not believe we have had the pleasure!" Allen said sizing up the Andorian.

" Thex sh'Zoarhi," Thex said with a warm smile giving the new face a look over. " Love your outfit. you'll have to share the designer. "

Taking a look at Jasmine's outfit. "Yowzah that is quite the outfit, looking good Jasmine. You too, Thex."

*Looks at Thex and Falk, "thanks, this is just the top layer" she said as she took off the wrap-a-round skirt and top to reveal a revealing Bikini, which left nothing to the imagination "I got a few admiring looks with the top items I was wearing imagine the amount of looks if I walked the corridors of the Starbase looking like this" Allen said indicating her outfit

"Probably as many whenever I wear my dancing outfits," Thex replied grinning. " Can you send me the designer I'd love to get one for myself. "

"Sure, will send them to you sometime" Allen said then looked up as the doors opened allowing Cass to enter.

Entering the Holodeck shortly after Allen, Cassandra stood back by the door. A high ponytail on her head, She was in a pair of black leggings that went to her knees, covered by a pair of jogging shorts in red. She had a standard issue black one-piece on under the oversized grey ACDC shirt Thomas had gifted to her after their second date. It was far too big for her slight frame. Purposely so. The sleeves hung down to her elbows and the neckline lay cricked on her shoulders exposing one ever so slightly. It was supposed to be used as a nightshirt to help her sleep. Though it didn't work for that purpose it did help her feel more comfortable in these more casual interactions being used to hide her body under as a type of shield. A pair of water shoes black with red, and a pair of stylish if not also largish sunglasses that obscured her face finished her ensemble. Along with a beach ball and a towel, she had tucked under her arm. Her eyes swept the beach and all its beauty. She offered a smile to the three ladies already assembled.

" Cassandra good to see you," Thex said with a warm smile on her face as her marine friend entered the holodeck.

"Hey there Thex it's great to see you," Cassandra said her smile brightening as she waved to her good friend. Then to the other two women. "Glad to see you Mazal and..." Shit, she hadn't caught the other woman's name. "And you." She finished lamely.

*Looks at the new arrival* "Hey there Cass, was hoping myself and Thex had some completion in the outfit department, I mean we both look hot as hell, still what you are wearing looks comfortable!" Allen said commenting on the comfy-looking outfit Cassandra wore.

Cassandra smiled, "thank you. You look lovely as well." Cassandra had never really learned how to dress up to look pretty. It had never been a factor in her life. On Cait, she'd been the outsider, the ugly duckling. There had been no point in dressing up except for ceremonies, which didn't involve things like make-up. Mostly lovely beads and artfully woven robes.
Yet, looking around at the room full of women all so confidently walking around in their swimsuits she couldn't help but feel like perhaps she should try harder next time to try and fit in. Still, she imagined that wearing so little was a bit to much for her. Just the idea of it made her feel vulnerable making a hint of fear creep up her spine. No... She'd keep her baggy t-shirt and leggings for now. But she'd work on that confidence issue later perhaps.

Arriving at the holodeck Lamia walked inside offering everyone a warm smile. “Hi everyone” To be honest she was a little nervous about showing off the small, but noticeable bump she had. Not that she had a reason to be afraid to show it. “

She seemed to be fashionably late to a lot of things lately, or just about on the dot. Coming in, Faith glanced around. She didn't even bother with a waist wrap. Coming in, in a high-cut Monokini purple bodysuit. Stretching her arms up over her head for a moment.

"Hello there Faith." Mazal called out, "Ladies glad you are able to come here. Also, this may be just a little bit generic, if you have any ideas for an addition to this beach scene, let's add it."

Her eyes were then caught by a redhead stepping into the beach scene, it was Ensign Autumn Cole.

Autumn was wearing a hunter-green two-piece, just beaming at seeing everyone gathered here so far. "Hi there!" she called out as she drew near to the rest of the women.

As more people arrived Cassandra drifted back. She smiled politely and greeted people with a polite nod. She had a few ideas on things that they could do. Volleyball, play Shark in the water, or they could put one of those big inflatable bags in the water and take turns launching each other to see who could go the highest. Or some water slides... Then she remembered one of them was pregnant. It wouldn't be safe for her to do any of those things... Nor would it be fair to do activities that would exclude her as this was meant for them to all get to know each other. So she tried to think of something else. Something more accommodating to their group as a whole.

Goodwin arrived in her new bikini which she acquired on Risa when last she had left. This was one she thought she would wear it on the next stop to Pacifica. She slipped in and made her way to the water. This bikini she wore would adapt to the water temperature and change colors so as soon as she got wet it went from aqua blue to a shimmering ruby red.

Goodwin then swam to the other side of the area and then floated there observing the other women. She was not sure who to approach for a conversation but she was going to admire the swim attire for now.

"Nice outfit." Thex compliment Goodwin. " From Risa right?"

"Thanks, I did get it at Risa on my last visit there and this is the first time I had a chance to wear it." Goodwin replied. "I was not sure about coming to this event, but I need to be more social than I am. That is a nice suit you are sporting as well."

" Thanks. I'll have to pick one up next time I'm visiting. I'm sure you'll find friends here." The blue girl responded.

"I will look into it, as I don't usually get close because when I had in the past, I would then get transferred and then we would fall out of touch. I will always be on the lookout to make friends." Goodwin replied. "Thanks for making me feel more comfortable."

" Think nothing of it. " the blue girl replied with a smile on her face.

"Well, maybe I will swim over to the bar and get a drink," Goodwin replied. "I will look forward to chatting more with you in the future."

" I'll see you around," Thex said with a smile as she headed off to mingle with other members fo the crew.

Goodwin then sat at the poolside bar and had a cocktail.

Meanwhile, Lamia was making herself comfortable, stretching out on a comfortable lounger enjoying the safe levels of sun that the holodeck gave them. She was feeling a bit less embarrassed now that she was here, sensing that others were feeling a little uncomfortable too.

Allen found a spot and laid out her towel next to Lamia, and sat down on it, she then put her bag down and pulled out some sunglasses and put them on, then she pulled out the sun tan lotion. "Hey Lamia, how are things, with your pregnancy, and how is that handsome husband of yours, he is quite a dish?" Allen asked.

Lamia offered Jasmine a warm smile. “We’re fine thank you, I’m most definitely glad to be past the point of morning sickness. As for Chris, he is most certainly a dish!” She couldn’t help but grin. “How are things with you?”

"Meh, cannot complain too much, I turned a few heads walking here in my outfit, it was almost comical, a few males ended up walking into doors or bulkheads as they looked at me walking past them" Allen said with a small laugh.

Cassandra did what she did best. She watched. Growing up on Cait she hadn't had a lot of friends. Mostly because she'd been something of an angry child. The gentle and curious nature of her potential playmates had often ended up violent when their curiosity had reached Cassandra's low boiling point. Fear of being abandoned kept her in a constant state of fear and uncertainty. She'd clung to her foster brother because he'd promised to stay with her even if she was sent away to Earth. Human playmates had been far worse though... Cassandra had been openly hostile to them hissing and biting and clawing at them refusing to speak standard only Caitian to them. Rejecting them pushing them as far from her as possible. Shunning all attempts to place her with a human family. As she got older she'd developed a more withdrawn nature.

Enjoying her days at home with her foster mother doing domestic and homeschooling. She'd come to enjoy dancing and singing because it had brought her foster mother joy. Anything that made her happy Cassandra would do full-hearted as it was the only mother she'd ever known. Singing, dancing, schooling, she even tempered herself to apologize and start making friends here and there. Once she was secure in the knowledge that her family wasn't going to leave her. Not like father had...though older now she understood that he hadn't really wanted to leave her either. It was at the academy she'd truly begun to flourish. Began to grow out of that protective shell and embrace the brother and sisterhood of being in the Marines. Though it wasn't until more recently yet that with the help of the Tomcat crew, she'd truly started to understand exactly what that meant.

She stretched out on her towel her back resting against a tree pondering her thoughts in the stretch of shadow she'd found. Playing with her ball and watching the other scarcely clad woman on the beach she felt as though she should have brought a weapon or something to help protect them all. A nice big gun perhaps. They all seemed so vulnerable running around as they were. But they seemed happy and comfortable. Which was good. Still, Cassandra couldn't help but worry. Her eyes constantly scanned the room alert ready to act if necessary.

Seeing her friend seemingly distracted Thex walked over to the Marine. " You okay devil dog? You look on edge," she asked politely.

Alexi finally arrived and entered the holodeck. She could see several other female officers had also been summoned. While they all appeared to be relaxing, Alexi found herself feeling out of place once again. As she walked further into the holographic scene she forced herself to at least try to look relaxed. she moved closer to the others and found a place on the sand to sit, watch, and think.

Cassandra smiled up at Thex who was looking adorable in her pink bikini. "Just keeping an eye on things. Is all. You look amazing." Cassandra's eyes then shifted to the holodeck door as it opened and the Vulcan woman that had entered through it. Was she a Vulcan??? Yes, Cassandra could see the soft points of Alexis's ears and the bone structure and mannerisms just all screamed Vulcan.. though slightly muted. Perhaps a dash of Betazoid? Human? That much Cassandra couldn't tell. "Who's that?" Cassandra wondered out loud. Her eyes swept the room quickly to see who else had noticed and might react to the newcomer.

" I'm not sure shall we go over and say hello?" Thex responded

Seeing no reason to object. Cassandra got up and dusted the sand from her leggings and shorts. "I think that's a great idea." She passed her colorful beach ball to Thex with a playful toss. "Let's go make some friends shall we?"

Thex easily caught the ball and had a playful grin on her face. " Let's."

Mazal after having observed everyone arriving at the holodeck, climbed on a rock and got everyone's attention. "Ladies, I'd like to thank you for coming here, I also wanted to thank someone else for helping with ideas for this, Cassandra Matthews. Come on up here" giving a grin. "I had been wondering what we could do for this little get-together and she had offered some amazing ideas." Giving a clap of her hands.

Cassandra had been halfway to Alexi when Falk's announcement caught her completely off guard. She stood there for a moment gaping in what she imagined a beached fish might look like for several seconds. Not sure what to say, years of training made her feet move. She made her way over to the rock Falk was standing on to join her. She gave a shy little wave to the others.

Wrapping one arm around Cassandra's shoulder she gave her a one-armed embrace, then released her. "Okay, now ladies I'll get off this rock and it's time for introductions. This way there isn't an incident of Uh hey you what's your name?" giving a laugh. Mazal also realized that she hadn't planned on having any sort of music brought to the party.

"We need a boom box or music station," Cassandra suggested. Something with a mic so we can introduce ourselves and tell each other a little bit about ourselves." She'd hopped down off the rock and offered Falk a polite hand down.

Mazal nodded a boom box would have been a good idea.

Maggie arrived at the Holodeck finally. She hadn't realized how long it had taken her to dress. The schmaltz from the Hangars had had to be washed off in a sonic shower before she primped, and she was never good at time management. Still, she sailed into the holodeck like she was born there.

"HELLO!" She called out, red-lipsticked mouth parting into a big smile. "Cocktails on me?" She laughed.

" I'll have an Orion starburst. " Thex joked in reply.

Alexi just sat on her little section of the beach watching all the other women. While she might not be in the mood for a party, relaxing a little wasn't so bad. She wondered how quickly she'd be able to disengage from this little event and get back to work. She chuckled to herself as she thought that watching the others was actually not a bad idea. After all, she did have an investigation to do.

Cassandra took the opportunity to skitter over to the controls. She made a few add-ons to the program. An outdoor cabana with a little bar and bartender. A stage next to it with a sound system and DJ to play some music. Food and music were huge commodities in the game of socializing. Many cultures used both heavily for such purposes. Tribes gather around big fires to cook and sing and dance. It just felt right to include it here. Besides Cassandra might not be so confident when it comes to wearing swimsuits. She was however more than confident to take on a stage and perform her heart out.

Looking over at Alexi, Jasmine Allen walked over and sat down next to her and held her hand out "Hey there, Jasmine Allen, First Lieutenant 95th Rifles" she said by way of introduction.

Alexi took the offered hand, "Nice to meet you, Alexi Michelle, Chief Petty Officer, Starfleet Investigative Officer." She looked over the holo-beach, "Interesting choice of settings, but I am more of a camp-in-the-woods kind of girl. Although, it is kind of pretty." She took a moment to look at the others, each seemed to be enjoying their beach time. She smiled over at Jasmine, "I guess I am just too used to just watching and not participating. Hazards of my profession, I guess."

Looking around "It is always good to be observant, but if one is too so, then they would miss out on the fun, you should get to know the rest of us, a lot of insight and information can be gained just by striking up a single conversation as you will likely be able to gauge things" Allen responded.

Alexi nodded and smiled, "You may have a point." She turned to look at her feet and dug her toes into the sand. "Are you ready for this? Because I am not sure I am. I might be part of security, but the bulk of my work is spent looking at information, not targets."

Following suit "Okay then, let's see how things go" Allen said and stood "After you Alexi" she said.

Alexi allowed herself a small smile as she got to her feet. "I suppose now is as good a time as any to stop watching and, as my mother used to say, play nice."

*Smiling* "Let us find out shall we?" Allen said following Alexi to the others.

Maggie spread out her towel and pulled off her sundress to reveal a white bikini that highlighted her curves perfectly. She looked around and decided to mingle. She began to move among the other women.

Cassandra sang a few songs, even replicated a guitar and played a few golden oldies. During sets, she watched the group. Each off doing their own things. A few here and there talking perhaps, but no actual bonding going on really. Nothing in the way of actually or coming together as a group, or everyone getting to know each other. It was quite sad. She felt disappointed. Setting the instrument aside she gave up on the idea of music letting the holographic DJ take over. She slipped off to go. Pointless. That was the word that came to mind. You can't push a cart sideways. Maybe she should have suggested an escape room instead of a beach. At least then people would have needed to communicate if only for the sake of reaching an intended goal. Or a murder mystery program to get them all working together. This... Well at least they were all having fun looking cute for each other,. Some of them seemed to be talking. Still, If no one else was going to try and bring everyone together why should she waste her own effort? Taking advantage of everyone else being busy Cassandra simply left.

Maggie spotted the woman trying to leave and sprinted for the door.

"No, you don't. If I gotta be here, you gotta be here," she said, tugging the other woman's arm. "Come sit by me. We can chat," she said, pulling Cassandra along. "I am Maggie LeFebvre, Chief Shuttle Pilot." Never mind that she was the only shuttle pilot, but that didn't matter. "I am Human, but that's ok," she said, laughing. "Let's get you a drink. You seem like a Risian Sunrise kinda lady." She approached the Cabana. "A Pina colada for me, and a Risian Sunrise for my friend here," she said. "What IS your name?" She asked.

Cassandra had almost made her escape... Almost. She actually recognized the woman Maggie from the pilot's training she'd been drafted into. She'd been the one eager to get started on the simulator. At Maggie's words Cassandra shook her head. "I umm. I don't drink. My.. uh.. my name's Mathews, Cassandra Mathews." She said as she took the seat she'd been led to.

"Well, you can have some tea, then," she said. A moment later, she handed the woman a glass of iced tea and then took her frozen drink to a nearby lounger. "Nice to meet you, Cassandra Mathews. What do you do here?" She asked, settling in. Might as well get some sun, even if was just the holographic kind. She was getting TOO pale-a hazard for her love life.

"I shoot things mostly," Cassandra replied. Sure there was more to it than that. Still, It was the best discrimination she could come up with.

Maggie nodded wisely. "Basically, that's what I do," she said...all things considered. "Sometimes, I also DO get to make the boat go whoosh," she said, flailing her arms and nearly knocking over her drink. "I do fill in at the Helm on the rare occasion no one else is available," she said. She'd done it just a few times. It was always fun, but never her main interest.

"That does sound like fun." Cassandra acknowledged. Cassie was just beginning her flying lessons. Though honestly, it was slow going. It certainly wasn't worth bringing up to her new friend here who had obviously much more experience in that area.

Thex as soon as the music had started had let her body go into autopilot mode as she started dancing to the music and stepping onto a platform she had let her body go as she followed the beat. Her training as a dancer clearly showed as her body moved like water to the beat. Only when the music swapped to the holographic DJ did she stop. Seeing Cassandra and another woman off to one side she headed over to check on her friend. " Hey girls everything all right and is there room for another?" she inquired.

Maggie looked up. Thex! She smiled.

Cassandra smiled. Thex she knew. She patted a seat next to herself. "You can sit here if you want to. I was just thinking... I want to throw the counsellor a surprise baby shower. We could pull it off impromptu. Each of us slipped out to grab her a quick gift for the baby. Get a cake together and food through the program here. Plus I think humans have these games they play at these parties too. I mean it's too the best way to bond really. What better to bond over than celebrating new life and such? It's something we all have in common. I mean our whole careers are about seeking out new life and civilizations. Welp here's a new life baking in the proverbial oven. It's worth celebrating. You think Mazal will be interested in that?" Cassandra asked the two women next to her.

Maggie smiled as Thex sat down. "You look good," she said to the Andorian. "Ooh, a baby shower!! As long as it's not catchy, I'll come. I love babies. OTHER PEOPLE'S," she clarified. Maggie was NOT interested in a family. Maybe never, but definitely not right now. "But yeah, she probably would. Most people do. Us humans are pretty boring like that," she said.

Cassandra chuckled at that. "I don't think it works that way at least not to my knowledge. We just get her gifts for the baby that she might need, play games, and give support. I'd be more worried about falling into the puddles on that planet we are going to than a baby shower."

" I've never been to one but I'm sure she'd appreciate the help," Thex added to the conversation.

Maggie just nodded and sipped her drink. "Yeah, I am sure," she said. "I hear that babies are a lot of work," she said. She hoped her face hadn't screwed up into a sour look. People sometimes treated her weirdly when she said she didn't want children. She had good reasons, though. The least of which was her personality. She acted more like she was sixteen than twenty-six.

"Lifetime commitment if you're doing it right," Cassandra said in response to Maggie's words. "They require alot of time, energy, and love," Cassandra added. She very much missed her daughter Martha and Ctirr. She'd need to call them again tonight. Especially given the situation with her and Thomas.

Cassandra sipped the tea she was given. Her mind lost in thought. "I could use help putting it together. Figure out what sorta food she likes and cake, any traditions her people might have that we could include. You know some deep recon. I know that at the baby shower Jane and I had they played some silly games and the older moms gave advice in a big book. I'm thinking that I want to add something though, I'd like to see if we can get each of the women here to make a quilted square. Either replicated or hand stitched, but something that reflects what motherhood means to them. Something that on those difficult nights when baby is particularly fussy or mom is just a touch overwhelmed that she can see and be comforted that she is understood and that there are those who know what she is going through. Does that make sense?" Cassandra asked looking at Thex quizzicaly then Maggie.

" Yeah, i think it makes sense. " Replied the blue engineer. " Andorian clans tend to give gifts at the birth of a new child. I'm sure i can come up with something to help cheer her up."

Maggie nodded again. "Yes, that makes sense. That would be so lovely," Maggie said, sincerely. It really WOULD be. "That's a beautiful idea." She nodded and finished her drink with a slurp. "Ok, well. Time for some lemonade or something," she said, before it got too sappy. Maggie didn't really like Big Feelings, and she was bad at navigating things like that.

She got up to get another drink and left Thex and Cassie alone.

Cassandra watched Maggie go and shrugged.

" So we'll meet up later and get something organised?" Thex said to her friend.

"You betcha, I'll send you a message later to go over some ideas" Cassandra promised.

Alexi turned again to Allen for a moment then tilted her head towards Cassandra, "Do you know her? I was going to ask to jam with her, but she stopped playing." Alexi shrugged slightly, "she's not half bad on the guitar either."

"Yes Not well, but that is Cassandra Matthews, she has an adopted Caitian brother C'Tirr, perhaps you should get to know her, always good to know people" Allen commented to Michelle.

Alexi nodded to her companion, "Maybe, but it's always been a bit of a struggle for me. I like people, I just seem to find myself on the outskirts." She walked closer to where Cassandra and the others had gathered. "I think it has a lot to do with my position, not my disposition," She said quietly.

*Shrugging* "Not everyone can be good at personal interactions, but even if you are not act as if you are and who knows you might find yourself adapting!" Allen suggested in response.

Lamia was simply enjoying watching everyone else having fun, this was relaxing for her. She wasn’t one for performing so she was happy to watch others have a go.

Mazal looked around, watching what was happening with the others. She thought she had a good idea, for bonding time with the girls and the men having bonding time with each other. This time she felt her ideas were perhaps good but not good enough.

She clapped her hands together. "Ladies, sorry my brain has been a little bit off-kilter. What I thought was a good idea of getting all of you together was a good way for all of you to meet. It worked just a little bit. Just my brain keeps on going into the aspects of our upcoming mission. If you ladies want to call it here, I won't take any offence at it being closed down. At least in some aspect, you all can see what each other looks like." giving a little laugh. "Perhaps it needed to have been smaller, I'm not certain of that. I can't say I am the best putting-a-party-together sort of person. Maybe I need to work on that. I am glad all of you came to give this a try. Hopefully, we all can get around to getting to know each other a bit better. and I don't want anyone to feel like they are an island. Work on getting to know each other, and I will do the same."

“My door is always open” Lamia smiled warmly. “Whether that’s for official, or unofficial business, or just a chat.”

With Michelle seeking out Cassandra to get to know her Jasmine Allen walked over to the others "Hey Lamia!" Allen said approaching the woman.

"Did you know!" Faith finally showed back up, "That I have like 20 shooter shots and I need people to take them with me!"

Lamia smiled warmly at Allen” Hi Jasmine.” She looked towards Faith. “I’m sure there’s plenty of us here who’ll take shots with you” She grinned. “But there’s nothing to say you have to use them all at the same time!”

Jasmine looked at Lamia with a smile "A lot of girls here, how do you think the girls would react if the Captain showed up here to join us?" Allen asked

“In all honesty, I think it would make them pretty tense to start with” Lamia looked around the others, then back at Jasmine. “It would be good for them to get to know her in a social setting though.”

"Indeed, I hear that the Captain still has faint scars all over her body from when she was captured and tortured and beaten, so I do not think she will be in the right mind for socialising in such a setting, but Starfleet Counselling must have cleared her, otherwise she would not be back on duty. But you are correct the Captain showing up would make the girls tense up, beyond what I heard I have no further idea" Allen said.

Lamia nodded. “I’ll make a point of dropping in to see the Captain, see how she’s doing. You’re right in saying she wouldn’t
be here unless she’s been cleared though, it can’t be easy to be back though.

"I hear that, I know Counselling can help, but it does not stop any nightmares one might have, I can only guess at what she went through, I heard that on the shuttle that brought her home, in her then abused state of mind she broke her tormentor's neck, apparently it was twisted 360 degrees, now I know she got heat for that not in her right mind excuse being valid, that would be the only reason for how easy they went on her, but regardless it will be a mark that remains on her record" Allen commented.

Lamia nodded. “It will indeed. I can only imagine what she must have gone through to feel the need to do such a brutal thing. We all want revenge but to actually act on it” She shook her head. “It doesn’t help.”

"Don't I know it, but neither of us ever having to go through what the Captain has, we are not in a place to judge her actions, at most we can sympathize and try to understand her headspace at that time?" Allen said then fell silent.

Cassandra sat on her stool. Not sure what to do here. She wondered what Thomas was up to. They had another date night coming up. With it being her turn to set up she'd set up a nice hiking and a picnic on the Holodeck. He seemed to really like that Japanese program though. So maybe she should do something with that instead? Dating was hard... Cassandra decided. Though she was sure Tommy would be happy with just about anything they did together, she wanted it to be special. She wanted him to really enjoy himself. She let her eyes sweep the beach, the clusters of girls wandering around visiting and having fun she assumed. It was pretty. The beach. It's golden sand and the soothing call of the waves dancing along the waterfront. The smell and taste of salt in the air. It would give her a reason to try one of those bikini things that seemed popular. If it was just her and Tommy she might be able to muster up the courage to try one once. She let herself get lost in her thoughts. She was playing with various ideas.

Alexi approached Cassandra, who seemed to be deep in thought and cleared her throat a little. "Umm, Hi Cassandra, I really enjoyed hearing you play guitar before. I play too. Maybe someday we can jam together." She smiled, shifting a little on her feet, "I'm Alexi Michelle, but you probably already knew that."

Cassandra turned her blue eyes onto the lovely half-vulcan and smiled. "Well hello there. I believe I saw you come in earlier. Nice to meet you." Cassandra offered a handout in greeting. "I'd love to get together and jam. Music is one of my absolute favourite things to do when I get the opportunity." Her smile was friendly even a touch excited at the idea of a collaboration someday. "I was discussing putting a baby shower together for Kildare. Maybe we can put some music together for that?" She offered.

Faith held a finger up when she reappeared from wherever she had gone. Giving a look over the now current situation with everyone. "Aren't we supposed to be partying?"

After sitting at the poolside bar, Goodwin realized that she needed to tend to something of a personal nature ad so she left the gathering. She never really liked parties or gatherings so she was happy with herself for staying this long.

Once Thex and Cassie had moved on, Maggie found herself growing bored, so she stood up, pulled on her skirt, and headed for the Promenade deck to see what kind of trouble she could find.

Crossing her arms under her bust Faith frowned a little bit, glancing around again. "Well hell."
