Dodd was just informed that Jasmine Somers was transitioning to command of Starbase 51. However, a relative of hers was taking command as the new CO. Then he was informed that he as being moved back to his old title of Chief Engineer and downgraded to the 2XO. Sort of relieved by this news and so he was not disappointed in the slightest. He as happy to be more in his element than at the side of the CO.

This now meant his 'Li'l Bro' would be upgraded to XO. Again, he was happy for Leland. He had a program set to convert all his belongings into a pattern file for easy moving. So he activated it and had the file stored in the computer until he got his new quarters arranged. He had all sorts of little tricks that he picked up over the years. He did not own much other than a few real books and a few collectibles that he picked up here and there.

Once he had restored his XO quarters/office to standard issue for Hawksley to take over, he took his shore leave on the station. He had been invited to join a poker game and he broke out two bottles of Romulan Ale from his private reserve for the crowd. He made his appearance at the poker party and presented his beverages, had a drink and then had a seat at the table.

However, after the first round started he got a message to return to the ship. So he excused himself and headed to the ship.

Along the way to the ship, he came upon Lilli, Leland's now ex-wife. She was preparing to become an officer on the Starbase. He chatted with her and asked her to move back to the ship and remain on the crew. He had ulterior motives to his request but he was very genuine about his request.

He officially became the CEO/2XO at the start of the next CO's command so he needed to get all his priorities in alignment to be completed before that happened. He figured he would take advantage of this time to handle all of these new changes.

He got back on the ship to check in on the reason for his message. He had to process the final reports as XO and get them submitted so the ship's security settings could be properly updated.

Once he did this he then headed to Engineering and to his old office. It was nothing like it was when he was CEO before. So since Hawksley had already vacated the office Dodd got to work making it his once again. He did a few modifications, like adding his private shower and toilet and making it look like it had always been there. As well, as reactivating his office file for his personal affects. He then set up the replicator to hold his favorites and to also always have a fresh uniform on the ready.

Once he was done in his office, he moved on to the pool table and looked over the specs that the table displayed. He looked for the largest quarters closest to engineering that were available and claimed it as his new residence, while he would likely be more in engineering than his quarters anyway.

As he entered what he selected he felt a little surprised as it was not as he thought it would be. The quarters were quite spacious for this deck of the ship. It was actually a double unit but set up to have a bedroom, bathroom and a dining area, kitchen, living room and a small office or work area. It would be perfect for him. He then activated his second storage file and his personal affect for his quarters appeared. He then set up his quarters and configured his holo-emitters to allow him to still play what ancient Earthlings referred to as video games only his were much more advanced using holograms and immersive technologies. He then added his favorites to the replicator and programming his lighting choices for his off-duty times and then setting the climate controls since he was typically in the buff when in he was not on duty or socializing (or sometimes his socializing was also in the buff depending).

After his got all his personal affects situated. He realized there was still some time to the day and he would hen head back over the Starbase and see if he could maybe find a new friend for the night or maybe an old friend that was in a new position to proposition.
