Transfer to Starbase 51

- Starbase 51- Main Science Division Office Hub -

Alexandra had arrived at the main hub on the starbase where all the offices and basic labs for the Sciences were located. She knew there were some other specialists in Anthropology and Archaeology on the station, but one of them was likely going to step down due to his age. She was set to be the head of the group now that she had been transferred to the station.

Nervousness accompanied her as she made her way to the office that would now be hers. She had already set up her personal quarters, which were about the same size as those she had on the starship; however, she now had a small office in her quarters alongside the standard arrangements.

She placed her small storage container on her new desk and then took a seat. "Computer, please begin a personal log," she requested of the computer.

"I am now starting this new chapter of my life. I am assigned to Starbase 51, which will allow me more duties in my specialty and provide me with greater opportunities for fieldwork alongside a variety of others on a vast assortment of ships and transports. I am looking forward to this.

Also, I am on the starbase that the Tomcat calls home for the most part, so I shall still get to see the crew and those I have come to consider family. Interestingly, there was an engineer who also transferred to the station from my ship. I have had my eye on him as he seems like a nice chap, and I do think there could be something there, but I was waiting for him to make the first move. He would always glance at me in the lounge or at awards ceremonies and the like, so now that I am starting this new chapter, I may also embark on that new aspect of myself.

I believe I am going to like it here. The Tomcat was a wonderful time in my life, but now I am focused on reclaiming my mind and my life, rather than fighting to keep it. The reason for this change is to allow me to fully heal mentally and emotionally, as I felt being on the ship would always serve as a reminder that danger was more of a possibility than I think the Starbase will present." Alexandra commenced her log.

"Computer, end and save log."
