Mission: General Sim Postings
Location: Various
Timeline: Current

Lilli stood in the open doorway for one more moment, her dream was over and there was no point in staying aboard anymore. How could she stay with Leland still onboard, she’d see what she lost everyday and that would hurt more than anything ever could.

No, she was leaving reassignment to Starbase 51 seemed the logical idea at least there she’d be out of the way. If she had to it would be a move to somewhere totally new, but she’d give this a try first. She’d do all she could to stay out of Leland’s way when the Tomcat was in dock to see him move on without her would break her heart, but that’s what had been decided no second chances to try again.

All her things were boxed and moved out, her wedding ring left behind mainly because she couldn’t stand to see it for it to remind her and set her heart aching again. She’d move on at some point but that’s what had wouldn’t be for a long time, how could she? It would be like saying that her marriage had been a sham and that the love was never true. That was a lie.

She was leaving ship under her maiden name, there was no point in keeping her married name she wasn’t Mrs Hawksley anymore, or at least she wouldn’t be once their divorce was settled. She’d only signed that paperwork because she had little other choice, Leland wasn’t happy and she had no right to hold him back from doing whatever he wanted to do. No doubt he’d find himself someone else it’s what men did, they moved on to the next. She wasn’t going to do that not for a long time, if ever.

Heading to her office she walked in putting her box on the desk before sitting down and emptying her items from the desk into it. The picture of their wedding day that was on the desk was staying behind, it would just remind her of what had been the happiest day of her life. Now it was just a reminder of what she’d lost instead.

Desk cleared she sat going over the files on her padds, they’d all need transferring across to Lamia now. She just hoped she wasn’t leaving the counselling department short handed, she could still cover the marines who needed counselling from Starbase 51 if needed when the Tomcat was in dock.

It took a while but once all the files were transferred over she cleared the memory on her padds ready for packaging away to take with her. Her pictures and little bits from around the room were tidied away one at a time, her comfy blankets packed but the cushions could stay for the next Counsellor who would be using the office.

Getting to her feet she pushed the chair under her desk for one last time, then picked up the box and headed for the transporter room. The rest of her things were being transported on ahead so Leland would come home to his quarters, no longer theirs. She wished him well but saying goodbye in person was a definite no or she’d never be able to do it. This was the only way.

Walking into the transporter room she gave the transporter chief a brief smile and a nod to say she was ready to go. She just hoped Lamia would forgive her for not saying goodbye. Moments later she was gone.
