A whistle escaped the ship's chief engineer's blue lips as she made her way across the ship. Another shift was almost over she'd just been finishing off a few of the requests for repairs and now she was just down to the last one.

Just a personnel appliance that needed fixing in Lieutiant LeFebvre quarters which she just so happened to have arrived at.

Hearing the door alert Thex smiled as she gave a " Hey Maggie it's Thex I'm here for your request for a ....... repair."

Todd just happened to be passing by and nodded at Thex as she was meeting with the Chief of the Deck.

He stopped in the doorway... "what you ladies be talking about?" Hewitt couldn't help but grin, as he fixated on Maggie.

"We're talking about sex," she said, but then laughed. "Just kidding. Talking about work," she said. She smiled. "Come in," she said. "Thex, you know Todd, right?"

Todd chuckled, stepping into the room. "Well, I reckon I’d be intrigued either way."

Standing respectfully, he turned to Thex and said, “Of course I know Thex. She’s my Boss, the Chief!” Hewitt nodded.

" Just here to fix the water distrib net Hewitt." Thex explained.

"You're out of water?!" Todd gawked at Maggie. "You should have called me?"

Maggie shrugged. "It just happened, and she was passing by," Maggie said. "I would've called you if no one else came by," she smiled. "You can fix the replicator you spilled my coffee on this morning," she said, with a small pout.

Hewitt turned embarrassed, his face turning red like a child hiding from an accident. "I knowww..." Todd fixed his eyes on Maggie as he rubbed his steel-toed engineering shoe back and forth nervously. He nodded up and down. Hewitt then entered past, excusing himself by the two Officers to attend the replicator.

" Well, how have you guys been doing?" Thex enquired suddenly having found herself with nothing to do.

"Ah, we're good," Maggie said. "Wanna tell her, or should I?" She asked Todd. "We've got news. Need to tell the Captain, soon, too, actually," she said. She made a face. She didn't WANT to. She HATED talking to brass. It flustered her and she didn't like to feel like she was off her game. PLUS the Captain scared her just a little bit-she was very calm and intelligent. Maggie was gorgeous but kind of dumb.

Hewitt could see Maggie's stress about speaking to the Captain. Of course, he would be there to support her; she would be fine.

Unducking his head from the replicator panel, he grinned with a beamy yearning. "We're going steady," he said.

A smile spread over Thex face. " Congratulations to the two of you. You'll make a great couple."

Maggie smiled. "Thanks," she said. "It's more serious than that," she said. She showed Thex her engagement ring. "He did good, no?" She said.

"She will need to be courted according to El Aurian Text." Hewitt smiled back, winked, and nodded. "God, you're too CU-." BAM! Hewitt hit his head on the cowling brace in the unit. "F--K."

Thex chuckled slightly before moving to help. " You okay Todd?" she asked

"Thank you. I'm fine. I'm.... Just intoxicated." He paused as he finished up his work on the replicator unit in Maggie's quarters.

"Intoxicated by LeFebvre." He let his eyes linger at Maggie. "Sorry. I ugh. Its all fixed here!" Hewitt slapped his hands on his thighs and put his Engineering tool kit back to order.

She laughed. "You're silly," she said to Todd. "Thex is a friend, Todd, ya weirdo," she said, shaking her head. "Want to stay for dinner?" She asked Thex. "Todd?" She asked. She was HUNGRY for once.

"Me? Thank you. What is customary to bring to your dinner?" He brightened his eyes, "Should I bring Bubbles for Miss Kitty?"

" Sounds lovely." Thex replied with a warm smile spreading over her blue face. She was very hungry.

Maggie nodded. "Yeah, go get Bubbles and bring some wine," she said. "Thex and I can work the replicatiors," she said. "Thex, do you have any opinions on food?" She asked the other woman. "I was thinking pasta and some salad, but we can do anything. Todd likes meat," she said.

" I'll try anything once so go ahead with the pasta and the salad." Thex said with a smile.

Todd nodded calmly. “I’ll get the wine and Bubbles, Maggie,” as he excused himself.

While Todd was out fetching the things, Maggie got to work with the Replicator. "Can I get you something while you wait? DO you want to play with Ms Kitty?" She asked Thex. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable," the blonde pilot said.

Before Thex could reply the little cat had walked over and began rubbing against Thex leg. The andorian bent down and gave the feline a scratch behind the ears. " I'm good thanks." She replied as she petted the feline.

Maggie nodded. "Ok. Let me just use the replicator," she said, dialing in some instructions before she spoke to it, indicating what they would order and when.

"Hello Thex, Mags. I'm back with wine and bubbles." Hewitt had two vintage Starfleet ceremonial bottles, one red and one white. "I didn't know what you Ladies enjoyed more, red or white? I'm gonna have a beer."

"White for me," Maggie replied. She was convinced it had fewer calories because grape juice was naturally white coming from the grapes. At least on Alpha Centauri, that was the case. "Thanks, Todd. Want to put It on ice? You know where the glasses are," she said. "Thex?" She asked. "Red or white?" Maggie held the bottles out.

" Let's go with the white." Thex replied as she placed the cat down and headed for the table.

Todd placed the bottle of white wine into a sleek, silver ice bucket already brimming with ice, courtesy of the Starfleet replicator set to chill mode. He fished a corkscrew from the drawer, his movements steady as he worked the cork free with a satisfying pop. The crisp scent of the chilled white wine wafted up as he poured it into two frosted glasses, also grabbed from the replicator’s chilled stash.

"Alright, ladies, your Starfleet finest," Todd said, handing a glass to Maggie and another to Thex, who had settled at the table. His easy grin lingered as he leaned back, watching them take their first sips.

Thex took a slit sip of the wine letting the pale fluid flow down her throat. "Splendid." She said with a smile on her blue face.

"Really? Fascinating." Todd proceeded to take a drink of his beer and set it down."Thex, I've tweaked the replicator mainframe on the new Starfleet updated alcohol algorithms. The Admirals wanted a virtual winery they joke."

" Can always use more alcohol varieties." Thex grinned as she raised her glasses " Cheers."

Todd felt a bit cheeky. He didn't know if it was being around two ladies, a new record for him off duty! He took a drink of beer from his el-aurian beer stein.

Swallowed. "Thex, is it true?" He grinned slyly. "Is there a certain Doctor in Sickbay you have smitten. Leland tells me this Ross dude is in a hex over you?"

Thex chuckled in reply. " Yes, Ross is my playmate, though I haven't cast any spells on him. Just proved i can dance as well as any Orion dancer."

Maggie laughed. "Well, that's too bad. You should hear about the spell I put on Todd," she said, with a wink. "But that's sweet. Congrats," she said.

Todd beamed when Maggie laughed. "You may have put a spell on me, babe, but you became mine as soon as I saw you... I remember I dropped a flight deck ratchet set on my right foot..."

Maggie smiled. "You did not," she said, rolling her eyes. But still, it was sweet. "Playmate, huh? Is that what you call him?" She asked, waggling her eyebrows.

" Yes. A playmate is anyone in a relationship with an andorian that not part of quad. " Thex explained.

"I understand that your quads and sexes are very unique!" Todd added as he checked on the dinner being prepared, still in the conversation from the small quarters replimat kitchen.

"Shall I get to the replicator and enter our choices for Dinner?" Hewitt thought it was his duty to serve the ladies while they chatted.

" It is, and that sounds great." Thex anwnsred with a smile.

Mags smiled at Todd. "Yes, please, baby," she said. "Tell me more about these quads!" She was nosy by nature, but also learning about other cultures was nice.

Todd smirked, punching commands into the replicator kitchen with precision. For Thex, he programmed a vibrant Andorian kabbsa root stew, its blue hue and sharp krill-beet spice paired with iron-rich slethi greens to suit her biology. For Mags and himself, he chose a classic roasted chicken with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and buttery green beans, a comforting Earth dish. He eyed the replicator’s hum, ensuring each meal materialized perfectly.

" Well, andorian biology is rather different compared to most species. We have four sexes- two, what you would call male the thaan and chan and two what you would call female, the zhen and shen. The than and the chan both provided half of the gentic material needed for a little andorian, the shen provides the egg and then the infant is transferred to the zhen, who carries the child to term. As you can tell, it's not very practical, especially with our genetic damage."

Maggie nodded. "I got it," she said. "That definitely sounds way complicated," she said. She turned to Todd. "How do El Aurians do it?" she asked. "I am human, so we just do it the regular way, you know? The female carries the baby, and all that. We haven't figured out male pregnancy yet," she joked. It hadn't occurred to Mags that other species did different things. And she didn't really mind-that's what made them all different. It just hadn't ever crossed her mind.

Hewitt placed the table in front of Maggie and Thex. It was a pleasure to be around such great friends. After ensuring everyone was well, Hewitt took a seat next to Maggie.

His beer nearly sprayed out onto the table. He laughed when he heard that Maggie didn’t know about El-Aurian sexuality. His eyes widened in shock as he responded.

“Mags. Love.” He bit his lower lip. “Male El-Aurians do not carry babies. We are responsible for child-rearing and raising an El-Aurian child. El-Aurian wives are to be cherished and lauded as life partners,” Todd informed. He understood that Maggie was accustomed to Earthly ways, which was fine. He was pleased to be part of this inter-species roundtable. It was fun. “At just 100, I would be considered promiscuous for such a young male.”

Maggie laughed. "I was kidding," she said. "But that's good to know," she said. "Hey, I've been called worse!" She joked. But it wasn't a joke-she HAD but she couldn't help it. She just liked to have fun.

Todd leaned in at the table, his voice rich with playful curiosity. “Worse, you say? Never!" He shook his head. "I want to know...
What do you call your fighter?"

She smiled. "Well, my bird is called Lady Luck, but I've personally been called all kinds of names. I am sure you can imagine what," she said, leaning in, too, and then kissing his face. "The Fleet won't let me paint her pink, though," she said, sitting back and pouting a little.

" I don't think a pink fighter would be very stealthy in space. " Thex joked in reply.

"I am not so sure either." Hewitt, furrowed.
