A whistling could be heard in engineering as Thex and her team went about their work. The Andorian took a sip from her coffee as she looked at what she and her team had to get done today.
Her antenna twitched slightly at the sound of an unfamiliar set of feet moving on the floor as they approached her office door.
" It's open." She called as she finished off the last bit of work.
Faith took a step or two in once the doors opened, so she could look around.
" Hello there what can i do for you?" Thex said leaning towards in her chair as she did so.
She huffed a little bit, giving a pause, "Now I don't remember. Hold on, it will come to me."
" Take your time." Thex replied calmly.
"Oh!" Glancing to the boards she had in her hand, "I was wondering if you could look at this for me. I'm not sure why I'm not getting a secure connection between the two PCBs. I can get them to communicate for the targeting systems load up sequence and then all of a sudden something is causing one or the other to catch fire. I don't know. I thought that the voltage was right, I need it at 12v. Then poof! Up in smoke. At least I put a fuse system the third time after the first time something kinda...exploded."
" Hum." Thex said to herself " Put them on the work desk and let's take a look." She added as she reached for her tools.
"Mmhmm," Faith shifted and set them down carefully and took a half step back.
Thex brought up a view and began looking over the boards. " Well, we're going to have to replace the fuse and their systems as they've been burned out. Let's take a look at the targeting systems." She added as she began looking.
"We just need the original board layouts and we can replicate a new one. That is, if the original can't be fixed using date parts."
"Well given the tools I had to work with, it can be updated. I'm the one that came up with it, so I'm sure there's some flaws." Faith smiled.
"Nothing i can't fix. " Thex replied as she reached for her tool kit and got to work. "Can you replicate me the fuse you used?" she added.
"Pretty sure I can. I'm trying to get these damn stabilizers to work right." Faith moved over to one of the replicator consoles putting in the specifications. There was definitely a flaw in the fuse connections to the main board.
Thex was already at work removing the old fuses and cleaning the circuit boards. " With them gone we can add in the new ones and see if that will work." She said as she dropped the dead fuses into her work bin.
Faith motioned a little bit, "There and there."
Thex nodded as she took the new fuses and clipped them into place before securing them with the gell. Picking up the test wires she clipped them into place. A reassuring green light flashed up on the board. " I think that should be working now." Thex said with a grin on her face.
Faith simply watched carefully, also trying to keep out of Thex's way. "Hmmm." Noticing the green light and smiling. "Oh! Well look at that. Thank you."
" Think nothing of it. If it doesn't work come back and see me right away." The blue girl replied with a beaming smile.
"I will keep that in mind, thank you, Lieutenant." Faith headed off with the parts.
