History

Personal History 2368: Oscar was born to Ferdinand and Martha Wilde in what was once Germany. They lived in an old coastal village that had not changed much in the centuries since it was founded.

Raised in a family that avoided excess technology. His father, Ferdinand, operated a vintage yacht for pleasure and business. Ferdinand would take tourists out on the yacht for those that sought an old fashioned experience. Oscar and his brothers had to learn the trade to assist their father.

At 18, Oscar was attempting a prom-proposal and there was an accident that caused him to fall and slide across an exposed blade leaving a large scare across his chest, luckily it was just a flesh wound, but due to his family's avoidance of technology, he was not allowed to have a dermal regenerator used as part of the treatment.

Oscar's father, mother and younger brother were lost when the yacht sank during a freak storm that was not stopped by the weather grid. So then Oscar who was 20 at the time, immediately joined Starfleet and enrolled in the academy to learn all he could about Astrometrics and anything with mapping space.
