Physical Description Tate is petite but powerfully built. Years of intensive dance training left her with dense, compact muscle, exceptional core strength, and the kind of explosive agility that translates perfectly into both a fighter cockpit and the helm of a starship. She has a dancer’s posture. Straight spine, controlled movements, and an economy of motion that makes her look larger than she is. Her face is striking: high cheekbones, full lips, and sharp hazel eyes that miss very little.
Even in uniform she carries herself with quiet confidence and a hint of dangerous grace.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Intense, competitive, and deeply private about her personal life. Tate is a natural pilot who trusts her instincts as much as her instruments. As Flight Control Officer, she is calm and precise under pressure, but in a fighter she becomes aggressive and creative. Off-duty, she is more reserved, though those who earn her trust find her loyal and unexpectedly warm. She is openly lesbian and does not hide it, though she keeps her relationships discreet while on assignment.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths

Exceptional spatial awareness and pattern recognition
Grace under pressure
Natural leadership presence
Creative problem-solving
Physical discipline and endurance

Weaknesses

Can be emotionally reactive when personal pride is challenged
Tendency toward perfectionism
Occasionally too blunt
Has difficulty fully trusting others with her vulnerabilities
Ambitions Tate’s short-term goal is to become the permanent Chief Flight Control Officer of the USS Tomcat while simultaneously earning the position of Squadron Leader within the 30th Combat Air Wing (TC). She wants to prove that a pilot can excel at both the precision of capital-ship helm control and the aggression of fighter combat.

Longer term, she aims to serve as CAG (Commander, Air Group) on a carrier-class vessel, then eventually take the centre seat herself. She has no interest in a quiet career — she wants to be the one calling the shots in high-stakes situations, leading from the front whether she’s at the helm or in a cockpit.Privately, she also hopes to one day have a partner who understands the demands of her life and the intensity she brings to everything she does.
Hobbies & Interests Practicing dramatic, overly theatrical entrances in the holodeck (she has a whole program dedicated to “coolest possible ways to walk onto a bridge”)

Collecting tiny, ridiculously detailed model starships and arranging them in little “battle formations” on her desk

Writing short, overly emotional songs about ordinary shipboard things (one is literally about the replicator being out of her favourite tea)

Zero-gravity dance sessions where she pretends she’s in a music video

Naming every fighter she flies after old Earth pop songs and getting mildly offended when other pilots don’t remember the titles

Keeping a secret collection of the weirdest alien snacks she can find and ranking them in a colour-coded spreadsheet

Sparring… but only if she can put on music and turn it into an aggressive dance fight

History

Personal History Born July 1, 2369 in Calgary, Alberta, Earth. Tate’s early life was defined by intensive dance training under her mother. She specialized in contemporary and highly expressive, sensual styles of performance, developing the strength, flexibility, and body control that later made her an exceptional pilot.

She entered Starfleet Academy in 2387 and was quickly identified for the fighter pilot track due to her outstanding spatial orientation and reaction scores. After graduating in 2391 she served with the 30th Combat Air Wing (TC).

Her dual skill set in both fighter combat and larger vessel flight control led to her dual assignment as Flight Control Officer and active Fighter Pilot when she transferred to the USS Tomcat in 2395.
