Physical Description		Young and full of spirit, this man dawns an energetic nature about him that just appears to radiate from him. On his body, he wears the Starfleet standard uniform with polished boots. His overall appearance is not noteworthy, as one could pass him in a crowd and not give a second glance. His Trill spots are the only thing that separates him from normal Humans.

History

Personal History

Cael Michael Kuna Jr was born on a freighter about twenty light years out from Trill while his parents were working as scientists aboard the USS Normandy. He was born to Cael Michael Kuna Sr., father at 28 and Christia Preis Kuna, mother at 23. His father's field of study rested in stellar cartography and extra stellar phenomenon, where he spent most of his time inside the Stellar Cartography lab of the vessel. His mother worked as a fighter pilot for Starfleet. She served as the Flight Control Commander for the USS Normandy. Having been a science vessel, she often spent time working with Cael's father on recon missions as well as surveys of planetary bodies. When Cael reached the age of 10, the family left the USS Normandy and worked at the Trill Science Academy teaching the various skills they had acquired. Cael started school at that time and was very interested in the fields his parents studied. He continued his education with honors. On graduation of high school he was offered a position to be host to a symbiont. He accepted and began a 2 year program with the Trill Symbiont Society. After being the 2 years were finished, Cael was selected to be host to the Maz symbiont. Maz had one host previous to Cael. So after the surgery was complete, new developments between the two became apparent. When speaking to others, they never used first-person perspective. They referred to themselves as 'We', 'Cael', Or 'Maz' but never in the singular. This was thought to be odd, as no other hosts or symbiont had interacted this way. Studies were done to see if a connection was faulty or there were any adverse chemical or biochemistry flaws. It was determined that Cael suffered from something rare in Trill but common in Humans; type 2 bipolar disorder. For this, he would take medication on a regular basis by visiting a doctor or ships doctor once a month. From there he went on to study on Trill at the Starfleet Academy where he also trained with the Trill Science Academy. He spent four years training there, where he received honors in advanced fighter training. From there, he went on to work on the USS LaFayette as a fighter pilot. He spent two years onboard dealing with combat ranging from Orion pirates, to obstinate Ferengi, to the occasional run-in with the Romulans as the ship changed assignments very rapidly as she was on an as-needed basis

Stardate: 236102.10 Undergoes medical testing to ensure symbiont and host compatibility. Stardate: 236102.15 Diagnosed with rare Trill psychological disorder known to Humans as Type 2 Bipolar Disorder. Prescribed medication to be administered monthly. Stardate: 236307.09 Cael Maz starts classes at Starfleet Academy on Trill. He also worked with Trill Science Academy part-time to brush up on Maz’s previous host's passion; Psychology. Stardate: 236707.09 Cael Maz graduates from Starfleet Academy with honors and is presented a Valkerie Fighter to command at the rank of Ensign. He is issued his first assignment that will start in a few months time. He spends his time learning the vessel in and out during his layover. Stardate: 236710.02 USS LaFayette receives a new complement of fighters as well as new crew. Maz joins the crew. Stardate: 236711.21 USS LaFayette recalled from front lines to undergo sensor modifications on Trill. Maz radios ahead to family to ensure they will be there. Stardate: 236712.30 USS LaFayette has shore leave over Trill as ship undergoes some modifications. Stardate: 236801.01 Maz spends new year start with family on Trill. Stardate: 236803.01 USS LaFayette encounters three orion pirates on a survey mission in the Havari sector. Maz is sent out with the rest of the squadron to handle the situation and provide support. Stardate: 236803.02 Maz is shot down, resulting in a broken leg and burns across is right hand. Recovered by the USS Mentas and returned to the USS LaFayette for medical evaluation. Put on restricted duty. Stardate: 236804.11 Maz is released from medical restrictions. Stardate: 236805.21 Maz is awarded a new fighter, Gryphon class, after his previous one was lost in action. Stardate: 236811.08 Maz proposes universal training for all crew members of the LaFayette for fighter basics. Captain is intrigued and sets a date for official training to begin at the start of the new year. Stardate: 236901.01 First Class held aboard USS LaFayette to feature fighter basics to each crewmember. Maz is second in command of class. Stardate: 236903.21 USS LaFayette is attacked by Ferengi Marauders. Maz dispatched to deal with them. Marauders surrender. No Casualties. Stardate: 236904.01 USS LaFayette returns to Sol Sector for minor repairs and mission briefing. Maz in escort formation. Stardate: 236905.01 USS LaFayette in pursuit of the RSE ship T’shas. Maz sent to attack the T’shas when it is discovered they aim to attack the LaFayette. Stardate: 236905.02 USS LaFayette sustains large damage from an attack by the Tal Shair which escapes.
